About Course
Computer Networks Performance Modeling Training at SM consultant will make you an expert to study the performance of network protocols and to analyze interdependencies and capacity bounds for different performance metrics. This is an introductory course on performance modeling of communication networks, where we shall focus on four such modeling tools, heavily used in the performance modeling of communication networks, and their specific application case studies. The four modeling tools in consideration are - network calculus, queuing network and Markov process, queuing Petri nets and game theory. This course will start with the basics of network modeling, use of modeling toolboxes and the introduction to different network performance metrics along with their mathematical as well as physical notions. The rest of the course is divided into four modules, arranged from the basics to the advanced modeling techniques. We shall first move to the fundamental mathematics behind network calculus and its applications over data flow analysis. The course will be continued with the discussion of mathematical preliminaries of stochastic modeling, queuing networks and Markov process and their case studies for resource allocation, flow control, and scheduling. The next module of the course will introduce the basic Petri nets and its extension for stochastic and queuing Petri nets, with specific case studies on wireless networks and data center networks. Finally, the last module will cover the aspects of network game theory and its applications in protocol design and analysis.
