As we know in weblogic we have one administor user and we can add different other users as well. Sometime we need to creat users in weblogic who should have only read only access to weblogic and services deployed on weblogic.
In this post, we show you how we can create a user which has only read access.
Open your admin console http://host:port/console and click on “Security Realms”.
By default there is one realm by name “myrealm”, if required we can create new realm but we will use default realm.
Once you click on “myrealm” then go to “User and Groups” and then open “Groups” tab.
You can see various default groups present, along with that each group description is there. We need to create our user under “Monitor” group so either we can use default Monitor group or create a group. New group will be replica of existing Monitor group.
To create new groups click on “New”.
Fill required information and click on Ok.
Our custom group is created but we need to made it replica of Monitor group, to do that click on newly created group and open “Membership” tab. Choose “Monitor” group from left side and add it to right pane and click save.
Once we are done with group creation, we can move to user creation step. To create new user click on “myrealm” then go to “Users and Groups” tab and then to “Users” tab.
To create new user click on New.
Fill all required information and click Ok.
You will see newly created user in the list.
Now we need to assign previously created group to this newly created user. To do that click on newly created user and click on “Groups” tab. Choose “ReadOnlyAccessGroup” which we created previously from left pane and add it to right pane.
